Distributor Damaged

Summary

For inbound shipments which are shipped using a partnered carrier Amazon will receive and grade those units upon arrival at the fulfillment center.  If they are received as damaged and confirmed to have been damaged during transit into the Amazon fulfillment center, we will file a claim on those damaged units.

What is Distributor Damaged?

During the shipment generation process, Sellers have the option to choose an Amazon-partnered carrier to handle the logistics of getting inventory from the supplier to the Amazon warehouse. The Seller purchases the shipping labels directly through their Seller Central account and can print them out to place on their packages for shipment. The partnered carrier will then take possession of the inventory and ship it to the final destination warehouse.

Upon receiving inventory at the warehouse, Amazon staff will inspect and count the items to ensure they are all accounted for and in a sellable condition. If they are damaged during shipping, these items will be moved to the Sellers unsellable inventory and labeled as ‘distributor damaged’.

Anything denoted as “distributor damaged” or “damaged by inbound carrier” means that the shipment was received by Amazon already damaged to the extent that this inventory is unfit to sell. Such as an issue would show up in the Sellers' Inventory Adjustments report.

How GETIDA does this claim.

GETIDA will proactively review your inventory reports to identify any items that have been categorized by Amazon as ‘damaged’ at the receiving process. We will then file a claim to seek reimbursement for the missing unit.

Benefits of GETIDA Distributor Damaged:

  • We review inventory reports and submit claims for our clients which allows them to focus more on their business.
